Intermittent crash when loading/changing map

Hi, I registered here to report a problem that's been bugging me with the anticheat.
When I connect or reconnect (eg. changing map) to an AC enabled server, it crashes every other time with the normal Windows crash message (ok to terminate, cancel to debug). If I start q2 again and try to connect, it doesn't crash.
I'm not at home right now, but I will paste the exact crash message here at night.

Specs:
AMD thunderbird 1GHz
512MB PC133
GF4 Ti 4200
SB Audigy
Win2k SP4 + some updates
AVG free antivirus
No firewall (I'm behind a router)
APR Q2 client

I have windows in portuguese, so a rough translation would be "The instruction at 0x66b1aa74 referenced memory at 0x0398fe98. The memory couldn't be written.".

Also, I ran the updater today, and it downloaded a new version of the anticheat.dll. It doesn't crash so often with this new version.

The new version should make no difference at all to stability, I just found a rare bug with some of the checksum generating codes. I'll look into the crash though, if you are ever able to reproduce it all the time, please let me know how.

Well, it happens about every other time I connect or reconnet to a server. The latest version does not change this after all; I think I was just lucky that day that it wasn't crashing so often. However, I don't know how I could make it happen every time.
Anyway, these are the servers i usually go to:

Well the crashes seem to be gone. I don't know whether it was a fix you made the AC or just something else that might have changed in my pc, but it's alright now.

This should hopefully be fixed (at last!). Thanks to emperphis for his help tracking it down.
