What exactly "didn't work"? The latest version of the updater (0.0.6, released only few hours ago) should give plenty of information as to what went wrong. If you can give me an error message or something else to work with I'll try to fix it.

Thanks that worked......gamehost even though the file it was supposed to start was named r1q2.exe it was still starting quake2.exe which was an older version of r1q2 that I had renamed.  Sorry for all the trouble I quess it was my bad memory.

Heh, glad you got it sorted in the end. Hopefully that will be the first and last time I end up using an exploit to tell admins to update .
