I just upgraded to b4186 and restarted a Q2 Lithium server I run.
Got this...
Z_FreeTagsGame: Gam DLL corrupted a memory block of size 5 at 00F7E370 (allocated 0 ms ago)
I see the note about contacting the author and such, but the problem now is this mod hasn't been updated since 1999 and the author probably isn't anywhere to be found.
I don't know what to do really other than go back to an older build or even quake2.exe

You run the Lithium server with r1q2ded or r1q2ded-old?

Hehe, I figured this code might expose a few buggy mods . You should set z_buggygame 1 if you are unable to get an updated/fixed version of the mod or it is closed source.

I run the dedicated.exe. As for my client, I don't use r1q2 yet. And now the old FreezeTag mod gives the same message. And them guys are long gone. I might have source for that one though somewhere.

Oops, and now our OSP Tourney server. Slowly but sure our servers are going down. Well, each one seems to only do it when the map trys to change.

Can you post some gamex86.dll files and configs that cause this? I ran my version of DDay (no idea what it is ) for several maps without a problem. I don't have any freezetag or tourney DLLs/configs to test with either. However I am running 4186 on the OCLD Gloom Server where it is running fine without any issues... so I would suspect the problem is with the mods rather than the r1q2ded. However z_buggygame 1 should be trying to compensate for it.

you must include this at the end of the file of the server;
sv maplist maplist.ini 1 sv maplist start
PD: just for Quake2-dday

Version of DDay I'm using cycled through the default maps (dday1 - dday5) without any problem. Where can I get the one which is causing problems?

Are all the people reporting crashes using Q2Admin by any chance?

Rich, as far as I know, SHAEF v1.0 never induced these crashes at all when the 'gamemap' to 'map' command change was done.
I can't speak about servers using the maplist, but most people never ran it as it always produced crashes anyway from original Vipersoft 3.2 days in 2000.

I was using it, but took it off temporarily to see if it was the problem. Still crashed. I put it back on, also now use the convert gamemap to map inside of Q2admin and fixed the crashing.
