On my r1q2 server clients can't autodownload the current map. It says:

Downloading maps/xxxxxx.bsp
Server does not have this file.

When the server obviously DOES have it.

Why can this be?

You mean r1q2 server doesnt allow autodownloading? No cvar for that?

allow_download* works for both client and server - client what to request, server what to allow. If client has allow_download 1 but server has allow_download 0, you will get 'Server does not have this file'.
