yea it says error sound  player/sounds/step1 thru 4 wont let me on i dloded your quake 2 from torrentz and turned off my anti virus and fire wall seemed to be working except this problem

You will need to use original pak files, if you used an illegal copy of Quake II it may contains modified content.
