How to get smooth movement up steps?

Running upwards in steps is very shaky. I have tried to set the cl_smoothsteps to 0 and 1 - theres no difference. My cl_maxfps is set to 30. The shaking is very disturbing. It varies on different maps - but there some shaking in all steps when running upwards.
But the R1Q2 is great!

The only way to improve this is to increase the cl_maxfps value until it goes away. Since the client only runs the prediction code when it is going to send a packet, this unfortunately is the only way for now.

My look on this sort of thing is it happens in real life, and is the same for all players - part of the game!
