Hey,
I'ma veteran, serious Quake2 player where everything of my settings are important in playing successfully, so here is the problem:

I'v used to play Q2 at resolution 512x384 - everythings big enough to see from the distance etc. Now trying to run it on my new PC after 5 years break it only runs fullscreen with res 640+, however 512x384 is just a tiny little window. Pressing alt+enter doesnt help it just jumps back to being tiny.
I get it, its probably new hardware and stuff but wondering if theres some kind of workaround (there must be?) to this problem?! Smiley

Windows 7 64bit, graphics card: Ati HD5850.

you must add the desired custom resolution using ATI's Catalyst Control Center (but I can't find any option) or other 3rd party program
why do you want 512x384 over 640x480?

Mainly because in larger CTF maps even at 640x480 I have to use sniper alias (which is pretty annoying) to see clearer where to shoot - enemies are too small.

I fixed this problem. The fix would probably work for other ppl with no fullscreen but with other resolutions.

1.Regedit
2.locate to:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Video\
3. In one of the folders you'll find 0000\DALNonStandardModesBCD0
4. Edit it and type resolution and framerate, in my case it was: 0512 0384 00 00 00 75.
5. Restart

After restart Quake2 was running resolution 512x384 fullscreen. Thanks for the tip mhanor (custom resolution).

With a Quick-Reply you can use bulletin board code and smileys as you would in a normal post, but much more conveniently.
