I think that covers everything... :)
Well for those of you who don't know me I guess you somehow stumbled on this site while
searching for something of mine that I did a long time ago and is old/horrible (TACC anyone?).
I'm an 24 year old male from England. I graduated from the
at the University of Hull, Scarborough Campus in 2005 after
a four year Internet Computing course. I am currently residing in The Bahamas and looking for new
employment in the United States or Canada.
I enjoy working with linux-based web applications and
quake mods. I am particularly keen with
Apache / fastcgi / perl /
PHP / [my/
postgre]SQL / etc. I take a very serious angle on the security of my applications; I strive to achieve 99.999%
robustness while maintaining stupidly fast speeds (I get annoyed when my pages take more than 8ms to generate).
Actually I am particularly interested in all sorts of security / privacy / crypto related stuff, especially online
rights and such. I do a lot of Linux system administration work, mostly with web-related technologies.
As for my leisure time I mainly spend that programming various web apps (see my perl and PHP pages), mainly as experiments with new toys,
although I hope to release R1CHboard some day. I am also the current
coder/maintainer for the Quake II Gloom mod by
Team Reaction, with help from Ankka. I've
essentially learned C from working with the Quake II source
and gloom and annoying all my online friends with questions when I get
stuck :). I enjoy reverse engineering and hacking closed source binary applications, I have developed several
Diablo II programs and various other applications that make use
of such techniques.
Some of my past projects include the Total Annihilation Conflict Crusher (VB, ugh, ick,
etc), Quake II mods BANG, Stare!, SPOBFH
and the original "first mod" (I don't see why this should be allowed to see the light of day but some of you find it
"fun"), NeurotiC. I plan at some arbitrary point in the future to make a
Quake 3 mod of some kind, I have a few nice ideas such as
Infantry Q3, but that's probably overly complex to start out with. I'm
thinking maybe about porting something like BANG over to Q3 now that the infinite point releases seem to have
settled down.
If you REALLY want to go back about 4/5 years you can visit my arcane Red Alert 1,
Command and Conquer or Descent I and II pages. Not a good
example of how to design web pages :)
Want to contact me for some reason? You can sometimes find me on IRC at irc.edgeirc.net #gloom. You could
email me too if you so desire, .
