R1CH's Terragen Image Gallery
Terragen is a freeware landscape rendering program with hundreds of
professional features you would expect to see in expensive packages. It is available
freely for non-commercial use from www.planetside.co.uk.
This page is a gallery of
some of the landscapes I have generated using the program. Click the thumbnails
to download the full size (usually 1024x768) .BMP format picture. These
previews are low quality (256 colour) so they don't look as good as the
original. Hover the mouse over the image for the download file size. NOTE: Some
images have distorted / low quality skies, this was before I was running in 32bit colour so
they don't look as good as some of the later ones, and frankly the earlier images
just plain suck since they were early examples of me messing around :)
Also note that some of the later images also are rendered using
TerraGen v0.7 which produces higher quality water and world shading / reflection.
For best viewing, make sure you are in at least 24bit True Colour mode. As a rule of
thumb, the images at the top I didn't really care much about and was experimenting with
random features. Some of the ones nearer the bottom have a bit more attention to detail
and higher quality (and filesize!).
All images are ©1999-2001 Richard Stanway. You may use them subject to the conditions in the readme.txt enclosed with each file. If you
DO use them somewhere, drop me a quick note ( ) to let me know what
you're using them for, it'd be interested to see how these might be "used"...
